BULLDOG is proud to sponsor several professional Rock
Crawlers. We sponsor them for several reasons but one of the most
important to us is to get them to push our winches to the extreme so
that we can then make a better winch for our customers.
We sure don’t recommend that you, our customers, do anything similar
to what these pro racers are doing but we want you to see the harsh
conditions that our winches are put through and how they stand up.
We’re featuring Doug Bigelow’s story from his most recent race at
this year’s King of the Hammers race. Doug really put our winch
through the ringer starting with hitting a rock at speed and rolling
the rig. This bent the fairlead back and put a few scars on the
winch.
He winched himself out of trouble several times as well as taking
the extra time to winch several other rigs out. In one of the later
legs he used the rope to help secure his broken rear link (yikes!).
One of the things I ask each pro driver to do is give us feedback on
